Tell us what’s going on. We’ll take it from there.
Daikin. Fujitsu. Panasonic. Gree. Haier. We're Service Agent authorised on the brands premium Gold Coast homes are built around.
Most air-conditioning problems are completely routine to us. The unit that “just stopped working.” The strange smell when it kicks on. The bedroom that’s always warmer than the lounge. We’ve diagnosed and repaired every one of these. Here’s what we see most often.
If any of that sounds like your system, we’ll handle it. Every visit starts with a thorough fault-finding investigation from a specialised technician. For Gold Coast homeowners looking for certainty — no shortcuts, no guesses — you’ll get a clear report and honest recommendations. Every repair backed by our Lifetime Workmanship Warranty.
Most people assume the brand of their split system is what determines how long it lasts. It’s not — at least, not mostly.
Think of it like a car. A Mercedes that’s never serviced and was put together by a rushed mechanic will fail before a properly maintained Toyota. Split systems work exactly the same way.
The brand of your system is around 30% of the equation. The other 70% comes down to three things:
1. How it was installed. Did the installer size the unit properly for the room? Was the installation work tidy or rushed? A well-installed system runs efficiently and lasts. A rushed install starts breaking down within 2 to 6 years, no matter how premium the brand.
2. The quality of everything connecting it. Copper pipes, electrical cabling, brackets, drainage lines, insulation — all the things the homeowner never sees. Rushed installers cut corners here because no one’s looking. The system on the wall might be a premium brand, but if everything behind it is bottom-shelf, the whole setup fails early.
3. How well you look after it. A properly serviced split system gives you 7 to 12 years of reliability — sometimes more. A neglected one starts struggling early, regardless of how good it was when new.
If you’re not sure what shape your system is actually in, that’s exactly what a proper service reveals.
The honest answer: it depends on three things. The age and condition of your system. What’s actually failed. And – the part most technicians forget to ask – what you, as the homeowner, actually want.
Gold Coast systems age faster than most. Salt air from the coast, our humidity, and the constant cycling between hot summers and cooler winters put more stress on split systems here than in inland climates. A 10-year-old system in Broadbeach Waters or Hope Island has been through harder work than the same unit installed somewhere else. We factor this in when assessing whether yours has life left or is genuinely at end-of-life.
As a general rule, if a major component fails on a system that’s over 7 – 10 years old, has visible salt corrosion on the outdoor unit, and hasn’t been properly serviced — replacement often makes more sense than repair. If it’s a younger system, in good condition, or a smaller fault, repair is usually the smarter call.
But the real conversation starts after the technical answer. Are you in the home long-term, or thinking about selling? Are you renovating? Is this your primary residence, a holiday home, or a rental property? The right answer is different for every homeowner.
When something goes wrong with your aircon, the first expert is you.
You know your system. You know what it sounds like when it’s working properly, and you know what’s changed. You hear the strange noise that wasn’t there last week. You feel the air that’s not quite cold anymore. You notice the fault code on the remote that’s never appeared before. You don’t need to be a technician to know something’s not right.
Make the call. Tell us what you’re experiencing. Once you give us the information, we’ll take over from there.
Every repair starts with a thorough fault-finding investigation by a specialist Gold Coast technician. The whole purpose of a fault-finding investigation is to give you clear answers — what happened, why it happened, all your available pathways forward, and our honest recommendation on what your next step should be. You get a written report with the findings, followed by a fixed quote before any repair work begins.
No guesswork. No “we’ll see what happens.” Just answers.
Probably not and here’s why.
Gas in your air-conditioning is not like oil in your car. A properly working split system is completely sealed, and the same gas stays inside it for the entire life of the unit. You should never need to “top it up” as part of normal maintenance.
The only way gas escapes is if there’s a leak.
Think of it like a sealed coffee cup. If your cup has a hole in the side, you don’t keep topping it up – you fix the hole. Gas in your aircon works the same way. If your system is low on gas, it’s because there’s a leak. Adding more gas without finding it just means you’ll keep paying for regases until the leak is fixed.
By law, only ARCtick-licensed refrigeration technicians are allowed to handle aircon gas and a leak must be located and repaired before any new gas goes in. If a technician is caught topping up a system without fixing the leak first, they can lose their licence and their business overnight. That matters to you because an operator who isn’t doing things properly might not be around in six months when you need them again — and finding someone willing to clean up someone else’s shortcut work is harder than doing the right thing from the beginning.
If your aircon isn’t cooling like it used to, “needing more gas” might feel like the answer but the real problem is the leak underneath it. We find leaks others miss, repair them properly, then recharge your system to manufacturer specifications. Your system holds its charge for years, not weeks.
If your split system is still under manufacturer warranty, who you have working on it matters. Even a well-intentioned repair done by an unauthorised tradesperson can leave you paying for a repair that should have been covered.
We’re authorised warranty service agents on the Gold Coast for Daikin, Fujitsu, Panasonic, Gree, and Haier. This means repairs we carry out keep your manufacturer warranty intact. We handle the warranty claim directly with the manufacturer on your behalf — no paperwork, no escalation, no back-and-forth phone calls.
